The Art Institute of Chicago
The Art Institute of Chicago, founded in 1879 and located in Chicago’s Grant Park, is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the United States.
I really like this museum. As I found on my more recent visit, residents of Cook County get in free. The museum does allow cameras, and the staff are pretty friendly. The whole museum is a large maze. Every time I go there, I get lost in the building and have to ask where the exit is. I highly recommend going to the Art Institute of Chicago if you are in town, or you are a local. Bring your DSLR! Just use high AUTO ISO settings and you and take photos of the artwork.
What I do is take a photo of the artwork piece, then I take a photo of the label. That way I know what the piece is when I get home.
